Fraser Avenue Shops
Working with local retailers to maintain an important civic amenity at the heart of a regenerated community.

The new community shops at Fraser Avenue, Inverkeithing, form a key part of 7N’s transformational regeneration strategy for the wider estate, one of the most disadvantaged areas in Scotland. The shops have always played a central role in community life so 7N have worked with the local retailers to ensure that the new premises are at the heart of the regenerated neighbourhood. The new structure echoes the form of a market pavilion in recognition of its civic significance as an important public amenity and a gathering place for the wider community. The sheltering roof form offers a welcoming presence within the residential setting, while the colonnaded walkway simultaneously reinforces the idea of a building with a civic identity and a public purpose.
